Assessment of alternatives to the Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Clinical Strategy
A report from Enfield Council has now been submitted to Andrew Lansley, Secretary of State for Health, urging him to:
- ensure provision of hospital services meets local needs
- guarantee the long term security and viability of both Chase Farm and North Middlesex hospitals in Enfield.
Recommendations
The report's recommendations for the future of Chase Farm and North Middlesex hospitals include:
- Reviewing the funding formula for local PCTs to ensure the future financial sustainability of NHS services in Enfield
- Setting up a joint working arrangements to address workforce concerns, clinical issues and maximise patient services and patient choices
- Secure revenue and capital receipts from the Chase Farm site for reinvestment in frontline services in Enfield and at Chase Farm.
